Outdoor Learning and Educational Visits

We understand that children learn better when they take part in practical activities, real-life experiences and engage with their learning. As a result we try to plan as many experiences as possible for all children in all year groups. A focus for staff training has been working in our own outdoor learning environment and developing this to ensure a high quality environment for children to learn in all areas of the curriculum. This will continue to develop next academic year and we begin to use skills such as Fire Pit training, Outdoor Education Training and Forest Schools.  Our school garden is beginning to take shape and the children have been involved with planting some of our vegetables and bulbs to make our school look beautiful.

All year groups will have at least one Education Visit off-site each year and as many visitors in school as we can find. Some of the experiences we have had this year are:

Whole-school Pantomime Visit to see Jack and the Beanstalk at Maidstone Studios ~ Christingle Service with Rev. Steve Hughes/Captain Graham ~ Family Trust Assemblies ~ Captain Graham Assemblies ~ Jaws and Claws ~ Chinese Dragon Workshop ~ Astrodome ~ Dr.Anne Nortcliffe (Director of Engineering Curriculum, CCCU) ~ Community Police ~ Fire Brigade ~ Drama workshops for all children ~ Boxing taster session for all children ~ Rare Breeds EYFS Visit (Summer Term) ~ Pizza Making at the Potting Shed ~ Building Site Visit for all children ~ Nurses

PPG pupils are entitled to a 50% discount on all school trips and visits.
