This section is all about how you can join in and be part of our community. Langley Park Primary Academy is very keen to become the hub of this new community. Pupils, parents / carers and staff at school are all important ‘stakeholders’ and we want everyone to have their say, to express their ideas and to ensure we make our learning community a great place to be. We will listen and respond to what our pupils tell us – they will play a big part in the decision-making process. Pupils will express themselves informally (such as in class ‘circle time’ sessions and general conversations with the Principal at lunchtimes) and more formally (via the School Council, for example).
Likewise, parents’ / carers’ questions, comments and concerns are important to us. We’ll always try our best to speak with you at the start or end of the school day; through informal visits and by providing questionnaires. Our PTA (Friends of Langley Park) are vital to ensuring we enable as many events in and with the community throughout the year which will involve families and children, please make contact with our FLO, Mrs Carter if you feel you have some time to help support our PTA. If we work together we’ll ensure we create a successful community for everyone.
Friends of Langley Park is our PTA and includes representatives from our families, staff and members of the local community. They endeavour to run numerous events during the school year to raise funds for the children. In 2016-2017 these have included: Macmillan Coffee Morning, Halloween Disco, Christmas Craft Fair, Mothering Day Tea Party, Easter Disco, Murder Mystery Evening, Father’s Day Breakfast, Summer Fair and Summer Disco. If you think you’d be able to offer support either for one event or as a member of the main committee we’d be over the moon to welcome you.
