On Monday 4th November, Adam Turner, from Oceanwide Expeditions, visited Year 2 to talk about his role as expedition leader to the Arctic and Antarctica.

Adam brought in survival equipment including an ice axe, sledges, avalanche pole and foldable shovel as well as many pictures from his adventures around the globe. With a keen interest in history, Adam also spoke about the explorer Ernest Shackleton and the important role both he, Scott and Amundsen played in early exploration.

We are thankful to Adam for helping kick-start Year Two’s central idea that, ‘interests power exploration and understanding of the world’.
