Key Worker Provision
Earlier today we sent a communication to all parents regarding Key WorKers. We have received approximately 70 replies as I write.
The provision will be in place for the duration of the closure and whilst the children will access their Online Learning, they will also be taking part in creative, physical and IT based projects and activities.
To clarify and ensure those parents are entitled to access this provision, each parent will be required to present evidence of employment when they access the provision on Monday (or for the first time). This can be, for example, a work ID, letter of employment, current wage slip or another appropriate piece of evidence to demonstrate that you are employed in the key workers list.
If your child is attending the Key Worker provision or is entitled to attend because they have an Education Health and Care Plan we would like you to provide the following daily:
- Packed lunch unless FSM or an Infant child.
- Snack
- Named water bottle
- Any medication with a completed permission slip
- A full change of clothes
Children are to attend wearing suitable clothing for a PE activity, they do not need to wear school uniform. We will also be taking their temperature as they arrive and at lunchtime – any children found to have a temperature above 38 degrees will be sent home to avoid further infections, please ensure they are collected in a timely manner.

Please ensure your children are dropped off on time. Our arrangements mean that bubbles will be strictly enforced at all times in and around the school so it is vital we all support these measures to keep everyone safe.
Free School Meals
If your child is entitled to a Free School Meal we will be working with Olive dining to look at arrangements for this. If your child is attending the provision and entitled then a lunch will be provided. It is likely that you will then receive a food parcel which will allow you to make a packed lunch for the remainder of the week as Olive dining staff will then not be on site. Further information will follow on Monday once arrangements have been put in place by the catering company.
Online Learning
For all other pupils, Google Classroom will be live from 6pm on Sunday night. New learning will be posted daily at 6pm for the following day and children can then access this as and when appropriate. We will be asking for your thoughts and feedback on the learning that is set each week, so please use these feedback forms as an opportunity to let us know if something needs adapting or changing. If you are having issues with your child’s login or password, please contact the class teacher in the first instance using the class email account. Staff will not be sitting in front of computers all day and so may take up to 24 hours to respond – particularly if they are operating our Key Worker provision – or become unwell themselves.
We will miss all the children while they are learning at home, so please encourage them to share their learning and keep in touch via Google Classroom, Facebook and Instagram. We look forward to seeing you as soon as schools fully reopen – and please remember, that while the doors of the school are closing to most children, Langley Park Primary Academy Community still exists, perhaps just virtually for a little while.
