Dear parent / carer

As you will know, Mrs Fidock has been the Principal of LPPA since it started as a brand new primary for families in Maidstone. Not only has her leadership of the academy been recognised by Ofsted as outstanding, but LPPA is now one of the most popular schools in the area and is readily over-subscribed on first preferences.

As explained in a letter to parents earlier this year, Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) asked Mrs Fidock to provide extra support to one of its newest primary academies over the last few months in addition to her role at LPPA. She has juggled the two roles magnificently and managed a demanding schedule to ensure that the high standards at LPPA have not slipped, even through the difficult lockdown periods we have all had to endure.

I can now confirm that Mrs Fidock has been promoted to a new position within LAT as Principal of Paddock Wood Primary Academy, a large three-form entry school south of Maidstone. Her appointment begins on Monday 7th June, but she will organise a smooth transition with her successor to ensure that LPPA continues to go from strength to strength.

The Trust will advertise the post of Principal at LPPA nationally from today with interviews taking place later this half-term. I will write to you again shortly to let you know the outcome of that process and confirm how the academy will be led from June onwards.

In the meantime, I am sure you will join me in congratulating Mrs Fidock on her new appointment which is very much deserved. I would also like to thank you for all of your continuing support for the academy which has been especially crucial throughout the Covid pandemic. I know how much your encouragement has been valued by staff.

Yours faithfully,

Simon Beamish | Chief Executive
